Pointe de Chalune (The Alpine Challenge)
The experience: For seasoned hikers seeking wild peaks. The Pointe de Chalune (2,116 m) offers a high-mountain experience without the crowds of the Dent d’Oche. The climb to the Col de Foron is steep, but reaching the ridge is a real reward. The panorama takes in the peaks of the Giffre, the Aravis and, of course, Lake Geneva. It is also one of the best spots in the region for spotting marmots and, with a bit of luck, chamois.
Tip from the team: This is a challenging hike: be sure to check the weather forecast before setting off. The path can be slippery towards the end in wet weather.
